Christmas Range for Harry Specters

It’s the most chocolatey time of the year!

The lead-up to December this year has been anything but festive. I didn’t think I could even begin to feel Christmassy until I received a parcel a couple of days ago and opened it to find the Harry Specters Advent Calendar.

The team at HS and I started working on the advent calendar (their very first one) last year, so seeing it come to life at the end of a pretty bleak year is really great.

This was also by far the most complicated artwork I’ve ever done. Designing the inside of the windows by reversing the graphics and making sure the names of the chocolates corresponded with the chocolates in the tray was a real challenge. But it made me realise that I actually really enjoy these sorts of cutter guides. Especially when I have to make a mini-mockup to make sure it all looks good (is it okay to say that miniature packaging is one of my favourite things in the world?) Also please excuse my terrible printer, I literally only use it for checking layouts.

After completing the Advent Calendar, HS loved the design so much that they wanted to roll it out on a few of their other products as well (see below).

Hope these designs make you feel a little spark of that Christmas joy we all miss so much, or that some of the puns I’ve incorporated into the advent calendar will (at the very least) result in a smile. ‘Mango Tango around the Christmas tree’ anyone?
